These Single Sided ID Card Printers (Simplex Printers) print on plastic PVC/PET or Composite card material as well as ISO7816 contact smart cards and NFC or ISO1443A Mifare contactless smart cards.

If you need to print on both sides of the card, this is easy to do.  If one side of the card has static information (as in that it does not change for each card) you can pre-print these using your simplex printer and then simply turn the cards over and re-run them through the printer as blank cards on the other side - this is the most cost-effective way of printing ID card products.
